Forest Elopement in Olympic National Park

Every moment of this gorgeous Olympic National Park elopement was crafted with such care and attention to space and place. To prepare for this beautiful day, Molly and Drew actually took a weekend trip to the Olympics and set themselves the challenge to find the perfect ceremony site. They hiked around and explored together until they found this spot, which they chose specifically for the ways these trees framed them and mimicked a chuppah. They wanted to honor this tradition despite having an unconventional elopement. It felt like such a privilege to photograph their private ceremony: under the trees, in the rainforest, with rain dripping softly from the branches all around.

Planning the Perfect Olympic National Park Elopement

One of the keys to having a great elopement is to plan lots of little joyful moments throughout the day. I worked with Molly and Drew to plan an elopement in Olympic National Park that was broken into small events so that they felt celebrated at every turn! The bride and groom got ready in a charming cabin in a forest clearing, where they shared their first look, before setting off to their ceremony site in the moody rainforest. Molly swapped out her silver shoes for hiking boots to make the trip into the woods! After their vows, they headed down to the lakeshore, where they toasted to their love with an exquisite miniature picnic. 

Celebrating Love with an Adventure Elopement on the Olympic Peninsula

Drew and Molly have such a heart-warming story! They are high school sweethearts and have shared their lives for 15 years. They moved to Seattle from St Louis several years ago and have fallen in love with the beauty of the forests here. Together, we designed a day that was full of honor for the things that mattered to them. Their quiet Olympic National Park elopement celebrated their commitment in the most thoughtful and tender of ways. It was such a joy to help make their dream elopement come true!
