Intimate Hoh Rainforest Elopement
Intimate Hoh Rainforest Elopement

You know how Washington has a reputation for misty evergreen trees and constant rain? Well, that isn’t technically the reality for ALL areas of the state. But it’s definitely true for the Olympic National Park — a place that is near and dear to my heart. It has its own sense of magic and lends itself so well to the intimacy and unique beauty of an elopement. The moody lighting paired with towering pines covered in moss seem to hug you as you walk hand in hand with your love. This is why I’m so excited to share this lovely Hoh Rainforest elopement with you!
Dave and Kassidy grew up in very different sceneries — Wisconsin and California — but have bonded over their shared calling to nursing and their love of the outdoors, specifically the beauty of the northwest. They were so excited to explore the wonder of Ruby Beach, Hurricane Ridge, and the Hoh Rainforest. For their elopement, they went all out venturing on a big cross country road trip visiting places like Glacier National Park, The Badlands, the Grand Tetons, Mt Rainier National Park & much more!
Magical Moments from their Hoh Rainforest Elopement
There were so many lovely parts to this day, but my absolute favorite was their first look! When Dave first laid eyes on Kassidy, he was overcome with such a flood of emotion and I felt incredibly honored to witness it. He then helped her put on her hiking shoes before heading to the beach for their ceremony, which took place under the “tree of life” — an amazing landmark in the Olympics. The symbolism of this location was so special, and you can clearly see the love and intimacy that was woven throughout their day in every image below.
As their photographer, I loved helping them find the perfect location, prepping their timeline for the day, providing lodging recommendations, and more. But more than all of that, it was just a pure joy to walk alongside them as they soaked up their stunning surroundings in each other’s arms.
It still feels like a dream that it’s my job to capture couples in their cherished spaces — reminding them to slow down and be present to such a significant moment in their story. It would be a privilege to do the same for you and your partner! Need some more Elopement Inspiration? Check out this blog sharing my WA Elopement Guide or this Hurricane Ridge Elopement!
