Rachel & Kevin’s Artist Point Elopement | In The Alpenglow

An Artist Point elopement is one of theeee best ways to experience the grandeur of the North Cascades, which has quickly become one of my absolute favorite spots in the northwest! You’ll get the big and beyond epic mountain views, lots of glacial blue alpine lakes, and (a good thing if ya can embrace it) constantly changing weather that keeps things interesting. I had the best day here with Rachel and Kevin, creating a day that felt fun and exciting, but ultimately true to who they are, where they live, and what they’re passionate about.

Why an Artist Point Elopement?

Rachel and Kevin live in Seattle and spend a lot of time exploring Washington together, so it felt important to get married somewhere that reflected that! Choosing Artist Point in the north cascades offered some of the most iconic views in the state (without requiring a huge trek), making it perfect if you want a more high-alpine feel while still keeping the day accessible and relaxed.

Their dream was an intimate experience near water, surrounded by mountains, where they could actually slow down and be present with each other. I loved helping them make that a reality!

A Moody Start (and Trusting the Process)

Like a lot of mountain days in Washington, things didn’t start out very clear. When we arrived, one of the original locations was obstructed by a whole lotta fog. But Rachel and Kevin didn’t let it affect them at all (my kinda people). They were still so excited, present, and just leaned into whatever the day was going to be—such a gift to witness. We shifted plans a bit and found a quieter spot near the water where they could exchange vows and share a picnic, which added such a sweet and intimate element to their day.

After their picnic, the clouds started to lift and when they did, the mountains came out in FULL force. It’s one of those moments that feels earned when you’ve been patient haha and we were so excited. We headed up to take in the views during blue hour, with soft light settling over the ridge lines. And then, right on cue, a full moon rose over the mountains as we started taking photos. It was one of those completely unplanned moments that ended up being an absolute highlight of the day.

Keeping the Day Personal and Intentional

I worked with Rachel and Kevin on location scouting and building a flexible timeline so we could adapt to the weather without feeling rushed! I also provided my photo + floral package, keeping everything cohesive and simple so the focus stayed on their experience rather than logistics. Sometimes, choosing an elopement can mean a few more details and kinks to work out when it comes to decor or aesthetic elements, so I LOVE being able to provide the florals and take some of the planning stress of your plate!
