Returning to where it all began is just incredibly romantic, especially when it’s the stunning coastline of Alaska. Aidan and David wanted an Alaska elopement not just for an adventurous day in one of the most breathtaking places on earth, but to celebrate a homecoming. These two first met while stationed in Alaska (the old fashioned way: aka matched on Hinge), and chose a coastal hike for their first date. Years later, after long-distance love and shared leave days, they returned to that same trail to say “I do.”
This elopement was the sweetest mix of rugged and intimate: misty ocean cliffs, soft sand under their feet, and sweet stolen kisses among the wild beauty of the Alaskan shore. Their ceremony took place on a quiet stretch of beach, waves crashing gently nearby as they exchanged vows full of laughter, tears, and heartfelt promises. It was private, emotional, and entirely theirs.
Planning an Elopement in Alaska
Aidan and David’s day was deeply personal from beginning to end. They brought along the exact snacks they had on that very first hike (lunchables, poptarts, and cheap beers to toast their journey together…I love them). We explored hidden coves and caves along the coastline afterward, soaking in the blend of nostalgia and new beginnings. Adding these personal elements to your elopement day only enhances the intimacy and meaningful memories made.
What stood out most was the way these personal tid bits enhanced how intentional they are with their love. From pinky promises sealed with a kiss to pretending to fumble with seatbelts for a few extra moments together, their bond is full of the little quirks and rituals that make a relationship truly special.
They wanted to remember “how natural everything felt” from the start, how they “take off the masks” with each other, and how, before they even realized it, they had found home in one another. Their elopement was a perfect mirror of that connection: adventurous, intimate, and full of heart.
