Belize Destination Wedding | In The Alpenglow

Get ready, I have been SO excited to share this gallery with you all! As I sit here looking out at the gloomy mist of a Pacific Northwest winter, it truly aches (in the best way) to reflect on this wonderfully warm and love-filled day. Last February, Kristen and Tayleigh had the most magical Belize wedding on Caye Caulker. I was honored to be able to document it alongside a dear filmmaker friend of mine, Kassidy (see below).

Tayleigh and Kristen are truly my kind of people! They are a lovely mix of spontaneous, goofy, and adventurous. For example, they take every chance they get to travel, enjoy each other’s company, and meet new people. A few years ago, they met through a dating app and were immediately drawn to each other’s energy, kindness and lust for life. I actually recruited them as models for a styled shoot I did years ago. To my surprise & joy, they reached out when they got engaged to have me capture their big day. They loved how meaningful our previous experience was together, and my love of capturing raw emotion and love!

The most peaceful Destination Wedding in Belize

I had never been to Belize before, so it was such an incredible experience to explore and soak up all the lovely culture that the town had to offer. The motto of the island is “go slow”. As a result, you could truly feel that in the air. This way of life created such a relaxed vibe throughout the day. So much so that when a thunderstorm hit just minutes before their ceremony, it was a welcome experience. 🙂 We all hung out in the grill, laughing as we let it pass and then enjoyed their gorgeous ceremony on the beach. The passing storm cooled down the temperature on the island and brought a beautiful breeze, and their dance party was an absolute blast. I can’t say enough how much love there was during this day, and it makes me giddy as I reflect on it!

I hope you can feel the warmth, joy, and tropical goodness through these photos. Kristen and Tayleigh’s love for each other and their people was so evident, and it was an absolute joy to capture it all. If you’re planning a destination wedding and want someone to document this sweet season, I’d love to be that gal! Reach out through the link below to start a conversation:
