Sarah & Anthony’s Romantic Columbia River Gorge Engagement Session | In The Alpenglow

There’s something undeniably magical about a Columbia River Gorge engagement session—the wind through the pines, the golden light spilling over the cliffs, and that signature Pacific Northwest mist hanging gently in the distance. When Tarah and Anthony reached out to me, drawn in by the emotion and warmth in my photography, I knew we were going to create something special.

These two are the kind of couple that makes you believe in the soft, steady kind of love. From the moment we met, I could feel how much they adored each other—every glance was full of tenderness, and their laughter came easily. I worked with them on location scouting and timeline planning, and we chose the Columbia River Gorge for its sweeping views, tall wild grasses, and the perfect late-spring glow.

We timed the session just right to catch the sunset over the Gorge, and the light did not disappoint. As the sun dipped lower, it poured golden light across the landscape, catching in the tall grass and giving everything a dreamy, glowing quality. Tarah and Anthony moved so naturally together—it felt like every time I turned my camera toward them, they were either melting into each other’s arms or giggling like they were on a first date.

The Columbia River Gorge is such a breathtaking spot, especially if you’re dreaming of a more unique PNW backdrop. The dramatic cliffs, soft light, and sweeping views add so much depth and emotion to every frame. It’s truly one of my favorite places to shoot, and on this evening with Tarah and Anthony, it was really putting on a show.
