Leavenworth Anniversary Session | In The Alpenglow

One of THE sweetest parts of my work is when a couple trusts me to document not just one significant moment of their life, but continue to reach out when they have new milestones they want to celebrate! To come alongside people in different phases of their life and capture the excitement and anticipation of all that life has to offer is such a privilege. In fact, I truly cherish the deepening of these relationships and leaning more fully into my favorite role as third wheel. 🙂 I had the opportunity to do this with Hannah and Mason, as they celebrated one year of marriage with a Leavenworth anniversary session!

Hannah and Mason had the most beautiful, intimate (and unbelievably scenic) elopement in the North Cascades (you can see their full gallery here), and it was such a fun and adventurous day. They just recently moved back to Colorado where they met, but they called Seattle home for a short season, and I was honored to document their life and love amidst our beautiful state during that time! So when they asked me to help with their anniversary session, I knew the mountains around Leavenworth would be the perfect setting for their adventure loving personalities.

Planning the perfect Leavenworth anniversary session

As their photographer and official third wheel, I was able to help them plan this summer memory by location scouting, as well as preparing a timeline that celebrated this time in their lives and marked it with the beauty of our state! After some brews in the charming Bavarian themed village of Leavenworth, we spent our time on a giant cliff by the river, with 360 views of the iconic peaks that make up the Central Cascades. Then we made our way down to the river to dip our toes in the frigid water of the icicle river — the BEST. One of my absolute favorite moments of this day was Austin, their pup, who truly made the photo shoot with her gentle and sweet nature!

I hope you can see through this session that there is truly nothing like being in a beautiful place with your loved one. To slow down, breathe in that fresh mountain air, and to just enjoy a moment of uninterrupted adventure and excitement as you document a significant stage in your lives together.
