Moody Engagement Photos

When I first imagined being a photographer in the PNW, I imagined all the classic scenes: towering pine trees with a wispy fog rolling through, deep green moss on every surface, and lush ferns covering the ground. Basically, all things moody and magical! So when I saw an inquiry come in from someone named Michelle describing her dream of having moody engagement photos, I was ALL in. She and her fiancé Victor were both from California and had dreamed of coming up to the northwest, and I was so excited to share this place that had gone from a dream to a reality for me.

Michelle had been following me for a while and was the dream client. She couldn’t wait to plan an adventure together and make memories with Victor. After a very intimate ceremony with their family back in 2021, they planned a road trip all the way from California for their honeymoon, just so we could finally meet and do an adventure session together to celebrate their new marriage in the PNW!

Michelle and Victor wanted to experience the classic scenery that makes the northwest special: tall trees, lush forests, alpine lakes, and trickling waterfalls. Thankfully, Washington state was starting to feel like home, and I was able to show them all my favorite spots, which meant we were able to hit every single one of these sights all in one trail, close to the majestic Mt. Rainier!

We walked leisurely together through the forests, stopping often to admire the many waterfalls, all with a grand finale at the most picturesque mountain lake. It was such a special day and was the perfect reminder of why I chose to move here.
