Mount Rainier Elopement | Sarah & Paul’s Moody Summer Adventure

When Sarah and Paul shared that they wanted their Mount Rainier elopement to be a true exploration of the mountain (covering as much ground as possible and experiencing a place they’d never seen before) I knew their day was going to be SO fun. They had never been to Washington as a couple, so they decided to turn their vows into a full-blown road-trip. They wanted to explore as much as they could from the coast to the Cascades, landing in the heart of Mt. Rainier National Park for their elopement day along the way.

These two are Florida natives, where they both grew up and built a life rooted in service and creativity. Sarah, a photographer as well, met Paul when she became his personal trainer (amazing). Paul works as a fireman, and together they share a deep love for adventure, travel, and simply being outdoors together. This made choosing a Mount Rainier elopement REAL easy! They wanted something grounded in nature, wildly scenic, and full of sweeping views they would remember forever.

A Mt Rainier Elopement Day full of Adventure, Wild Weather, and Breathtaking Moments

One of my favorite moments from their day happened early on: they jumped straight into a crystal-clear alpine lake on day one, fully embracing the moody summer vibes Rainier is known for. My kind of people. 🙂 Sarah brought two dresses and multiple looks (including a couple wigs!) and was just absolutely flawless in every single one.

In true Mount Rainier fashion, the mountain showed OFF. Dramatic cloud cover, soft fog, warm sunshine, and those iconic, glowing alpine meadows. Every shift in weather felt like a new chapter and unique backdrop to their story.

Listening to these two talk about the qualities they adore in each other made it clear why their relationship works so beautifully. Sarah describes Paul as loving, protective, hilarious, emotionally aware, and someone who cares deeply for his family. Paul told me he adores her personality, her commitment to him and her kids, and the deep values they share. Their hope is that 20 years from now, they’ll still remember why they chose each other. How every adventure, big and small, brought them closer.

As a photographer herself, Sarah connected deeply with my work. They wanted someone who knew these landscapes intimately. Someone to guide them through the best trails, find the right backdrops, & create a timeline that made the most of Rainier’s unpredictable conditions. Location scouting and timeline prep were a huge part of bringing this day to life, making sure we could experience as much of the park as possible!

Sarah and Paul have built a life around choosing joy and each other. Their Mount Rainier elopement was the perfect reflection of that: moody, adventurous, and full of heart.
