Pacific Northwest Portrait Session

K

Kp & Wes’s Pacific Northwest Portrait Session

Kp & Wes are some of my previous elopement clients & you already know how psyched I was when they reached out to plan a Pacific Northwest Portrait Session. These two traveled all the way from North Carolina for a trip amidst the moody & iconic Pacific Northwest, and it did not disappoint! I picked them up from the airport & we headed right to our photo location: this dreamy, lush park near Seattle!

Why choose a Portrait Session in the PNW

As you may know, the PNW is classically rainy. Fog hangs low & fills the space between the trees, blocking the sun for most of the year out here, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the unique scenery of this landscape! However, it’s because of the climate that forests hold their rich green color even in winter. Furthermore, there’s even an abundance of micro-ecosystems in every nook & cranny. These include colorful mushrooms, various plant-life, carpets of ferns or moss, and more! In my opinion, you don’t need the sunshine to enjoy the views here. In fact, I think the moody weather highlights its beauty.

Planning a PNW Portrait Session

You may be thinking, hmm– what if it rains during our Pacific Northwest portrait session? We can’t control the weather, but we sure can make the most of it! Whether it’s raining or sun is shining, there is a plethora of beauty to soak up! That’s exactly what we did for Kp & Wes’s day when it started to rain. I helped them prepare, reminding them to bring layers to stay warm & keep inner clothing from getting too wet. KP even brought a stylish hat to block the raindrops! We wandered through the humbling forest, navigated through endless ferns, meandered over the rocky beach, and ended our time cuddled up in my old 4 runner.

If you want to begin planning your own PNW adventure, head here to inquire & we can dream up your own moody memories!
